In 1993 Pat Hadley-Miller started her editorial business as a part-time venture while completing her degree program and working as a job-placement counselor for a nonprofit organization. In 1995, armed with a degree in English from Rutgers University, Pat took the plunge into full-time freelance copyediting, proofreading, and writing, and incorporated the business into The Write Word Inc.

Network services assistant for nonprofit computerized library services organization. Edited and/or wrote articles for monthly technical bulletin. Helped train librarians on computers. Wrote profiles, marketing materials, and provided career consulting for clients of corporate and nonprofit job-placement organizations.
